Pèppoli Chianti Classico
Pèppoli was introduced in 1988, with the first vintage being 1985, and represents a wine that is both complex and well-structured yet has a fruity character which is full of aromas. This style of wine is possible thanks to a very unique microclimate in the region where it is grown. The vines are grown in a valley with particularly favorable conditions. The soil is rich in minerals, ideal for the cultivation of Sangiovese grapes which are vibrant and contain lovely fruity characteristics. The Pèppoli Estate, located in the heart of the Chianti
THE PÈPPOLI STORY
There is something timeless about the vineyard named Pèppoli — the slow passing of the seasons, the whisper of the breezes blowing through the olive groves, the quiet sounds of the farmers tending the vines. Pèppoli, located about 15 miles south of Florence, was originally built as a monastery and records show that vineyards have been kept there since the middle ages by Vallombrosan Monks. This 14th century estate was purchased in 1985 to celebrate the Antinori family’s 600th anniversary as Chianti wine producers, dating back to 1385 and spanning 26 generations. A total of 136 acres of grapevines are planted

Until one day, again over a bowl of macaroni, they
