New Péppoli Restaurant Extends a Warm Welcome
Italy’s rich tradition, culture and cuisine join in a welcoming embrace at Péppoli at Pebble Beach, the newest restaurant at The Inn at Spanish Bay. Authentic Tuscan-style dishes pair with a wine-centered, casual atmosphere to create memorable dining.
Opened in January, Péppoli is named for a wine estate of Piero Antinori, called “the most important winemaker in Italy” by Wine Spectato, June 1999. Recreating the ambiance of a Tuscan villa, the dining room has a grilling villa with a raised fireplace and open spit for roasting nightly specials, two large rustic tables that seat up to 12 and a wall case featuring Antinori wines.
“Diners who’ve been to Tuscany tell us the atmosphere and food are authentic,” says Kevin Peterson, Food & beverage Director at Spanish Bay. “Everyone is pleased with how warm, friendly and comfortable Péppoli is.”
The menu features seafood, pastas and country-style grilled meats, lamb, chicken, veal, and vegetables. The variety appeals to all tastes, says Manoel Errico, Péppoli’s Manager. “You can enjoy a meal with several courses, or a light mean. The menu is designed to pair with appropriate wines. People are discovering the Italian wines, and they love them!”
One popular dish, Veal Scaloppine, sautées veal slices with baby artichokes and roasted potatoes. The menu suggests pairing with Chianti. Another favorite dish, Bistecca alla Fiorentina, a 32-ounce T-bone steak for two, pairs well with full-blood dry or rich red wines.
Péppoli serves dinner nightly from 6-10.
