METHOD BREAKDOWN
- Drip Brewing: The coffee machine method. A common ratio is 1 tablespoon of coffee per 6 oz of water. For an 8 oz cup, you can use 1–1.5 tablespoons depending on your preference.
- French Press: French press coffee usually requires a slightly stronger brew. Use 1.33 tablespoons for light strength, and up to 2 tablespoons for strong strength per 8 oz of water.
- Pour-Over: This method uses a manual process where water is poured slowly over the grounds. The measurements for light to strong strength are similar to drip coffee but pour-over coffee tends to have a cleaner, more pronounced flavor.
TIPS FOR ADJUSTING STRENGTH
- Light: For a more subtle coffee, reduce the coffee amount.
- Medium: A balanced brew, the standard for most methods.
- Strong: Add more coffee to enhance the flavor for a bolder cup.
